We went for another long walk today. I needed to go to The Fresh Market and decided to walk it. I didn't think about how steep the hill is to walk up or how difficult it would be to push a stroller up it. I made it, though, and it was a great workout. :-) It was a 3.2 mile walk. Lily enjoyed it.
I roasted a whole chicken, made roasted asparagus and roasted rosemary and garlic potatoes. I also made some gluten free brownies with coconut flour and coconut oil, and a spinach, feta and roasted red pepper frittata for breakfast tomorrow. This no wheat thing isn't too bad to eat, just a lot of work.
Life seems different lately. We cut our cable down to basic. We haven't even hooked up the new box and it's nice to not have the television on 24/7. It creates communication and quietness in the house.
I'm really enjoying this new lifestyle. It's simple. Walking to the market today made me realize how people traveled before automobiles. It keeps us in shape. It's what we were meant to do. It also saves money on gasoline! I want to go back to the simple times. To live within my means. To not waste. To not succumb to the convenient modern ways.
I feel lighter, more energetic and all around happier. I think a healthy diet + exercise = joyful living. It changes your attitude and outlook on life. I really hope we keep this up! It's definitely more time consuming, but that means I spend less money killing time at Hobby Lobby. :-)
