Miss Lily has been traveling a lot lately. About two weeks after we returned from our trip to Nashville, we had to drive back up to Nashville then up to Chicago for my grandfather's funeral.
She is such a good traveler considering the amount of time she spent in the car. A regular gypsy she is.
My grandparents left a huge legacy to this world: 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The amount of lives my grandfather touched with his ability to share the word of God to anyone is mind-blowing...just imagine what his children and grandchildren could do. He certainly took being a follower of Christ seriously and used any opportunity to share, whether it was sharing God's word with a real estate client or someone at a restaurant.
I wish I could be so bold. I wish I could strike up a random conversation with a client that could potentially plant a seed that could change a life. Because that is what God has called us to do.
Lillian is roughly 4 months & 3 weeks.
I cannot believe how quickly she is growing. At first, it seemed like she was going to be in newborn clothing forever! Now she is outgrowing her clothes weekly.
Just yesterday she was:
And could barely fit into her carseat. Now he head fits between the side cushions on it. :(
I start to get emotional when I think about how quickly she is changing. But I also get excited at the new things she is learning.
She smiles and laughs all of the time. She is so close to sitting up. She loves to grab things and pick things up. She started eating some solid veggies. She is learning to manipulate me with her crying, but I can tell the difference between real and fake cries.
Such a big girl now.

Real food for Lily!
Things are finally settling down after our trip. I'm still trying to catch up on laundry during little miss's naps.
Here's Lily's instagram week in review:
It's been almost two months since we started this new eating lifestyle. I'm proud to say we have stuck with it and I believe we will continue with it.
I work really hard everyday to keep my family healthy. At the end of the day, our health is all that we have. It pains me when I see helpless children subjected to unhealthy eating lifestyles. I wish everyone could be educated in what is healthy. Giving your child sugar packed juices and snacks is setting them up failure later on in life.
Lily's doctor told me to start feeding her cereal this week. We don't eat any grains, so I don't want her to eat grains. It lacks proper nutritional value. I don't feel like vitamins should be added to food when you can get those vitamins naturally in vegetables. So she told me to start her on vegetables. So far we've tried avocados, carrots and sweet potatoes. She has loved them all!
I now have my camera battery back so I will be taking lots of messy food pictures of Lily!

I will cherish your every moment...
Tonight I fed you and rocked you. Your head was on my shoulder and we rocked cheek to cheek. Your tiny breaths tickled my neck and I thought how I didn't want that moment to end. I want you to stay little forever.
As exhausted as I am, I want to cherish every moment and every inch of you. Your scent of sweet milk and burts bees, your coos while you sleep, the piggy sound you make while you eat and how you sound like Maggie Simpson with your pacifier.
I want to remember:

Hands & Feet
Some days I don't even want to put her down.
She is changing so quickly. I'm kind of obsessed with her little hands and little feet...

Welcome Lillian Faye - October 24, 2012
Lucky, Lucky, Me! from Teresa DeYoung on Vimeo.
You're here! Finally!!
At about 3:30 on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 I called my doctor since I was having contractions 3 minutes apart. They said go to hospital immediately.
So I hopped in the car in a major panic, called your dad and drove myself to the hospital.
I'm pretty sure no one believed that I was actually in labor at the hospital. They monitored me for several hours and came the conclusion that my contractions weren't going away. They kept me over night.
My doctor came to check on me in the morning and said "We're having a baby today." Two minutes later, I found out my dear grandmother passed away. Two minutes after that I was wheeled down to labor and delivery. Talk about an overwhelming emotional wreck...I ended up needing oxygen, because I put you in distress.
Ain't I purdy? No one said labor is glamorous!
A few hours later, you were born...3:37PM to be exact! 6 lbs 12.6 oz and 20.25" long!

Sweet honey bee
Dear Lillian,
I hope you will always remember your parents like that picture. Everybody fights and has bad days. It's important to surround yourself with people that will stick with you through those bad days and love you anyways.
That's how I think of your father. Somebody who sticks with me through my bad days and loves me still the same, if not more.
